About AI for Clinicians
AI for Clinicians is a small, independent learning project for practising doctors. We write short, plain-English lessons that show how everyday AI tools can fit into clinical work — note-taking, patient education, summarising long histories — without losing sight of safety, privacy, or clinical judgement.
Who this is for
Working clinicians, broadly between thirty-five and sixty-five years old, who are curious about AI but have not had time to wade through technical writing. If you have never opened a developer console — good. You are exactly who we are writing for.
Safety and patient privacy
Nothing on this site is medical advice. The examples here are illustrative and do not replace your clinical judgement, your local protocols, or any regulatory guidance you must follow.
Do not enter patient-identifiable information into general-purpose AI tools. That includes names, dates of birth, identifiers, addresses, photos, and free-text notes that could re-identify a patient. If you wish to use AI with real patient data, do so only through a tool that has been formally approved by your organisation and that meets the privacy laws applicable in your country.
When in doubt: write your prompt about a fictional, generic patient. Treat the AI tool like a smart but inexperienced colleague who must never see the chart.
How we write
Every lesson is reviewed for plain language, accuracy, and tone. We avoid acronyms without explanation, marketing language, and anything that sounds like a sales pitch. If a lesson reads like a brochure, we rewrite it.
